What does a typical day in the life of an Assistant Account Executive look like?

Very diverse! Working for a wide variety of well-known clients with talented team members on a broad range of challenges and opportunities is exciting because every situation is different. This also means you change up your schedule every day and learn something new! In fact, there is not really a typical day. Assistant Account Executive tasks can differ from supporting clients with media relations and press outreach such as pitching journalists to secure coverage, media monitoring, analyzing media enquiries or client asks, keeping track of industry developments and writing content such as a blog or LinkedIn posts. However, another day may include the coordination of projects and events (now often online), setting up influencer partnerships, helping to set up digital marketing campaigns or being involved in creative projects such as the development of an animation video.

What three skills do you think are essential to fulfil your role?

First, you have to be organized but also flexible in case an urgent enquiry comes in – time management is key! Also, there is the teamwork aspect. It is essential that you are able to work in a team environment where you’re not afraid to share your ideas. The third skill is being constantly curious as it allows you to keep a fresh perspective for clients and for colleagues!
