Communications Marketing agency announces key new hires across all capabilities to further increase quality of offering to clients

Edelman Amsterdam announces a number of important new hires who, together, substantially strengthen the agency’s ability to provide truly integrated strategic communications marketing services to current and future clients. These hires follow a year of transition during which the agency has fundamentally changed its approach to the business in an effort to help clients navigate better and take advantage of a rapidly changing global and local communications and marketing environment.

“The best programs and campaign today are fully integrated, start from a strategy rooted in business objectives and are digital in their DNA and have a creative heart,’ said Arent Jan (AJ) Hesselink, who started as General Manager of Edelman Amsterdam exactly a year ago. “With these important new additions to the team, we will accelerate our efforts to lead the market in offering truly integrated communications and marketing solutions, in line with our strategy and plan for expansion for the next years.”

The recent hires Edelman Amsterdam has the pleasure of welcoming into the team include:

Martijn C. Nieuwenhuis is Head of Integrated Strategy & Planning and leads the newly formed Edelman Integrated Marketing Solutions capability. Martijn has two decades of award winning marketing experience, starting at Leo Burnett before setting up his own consultancy Dynamic Zone and several ventures following that.

Michelle Fresco joins us from FinTech startup Spotcap where she worked as a senior PR & Communication Manager and 6 years of experience as a consultant at Burson Marsteller before that. She has wide expertise in the technology sector. Michelle will now be a Senior Account Manager delivering integrated communication and marketing strategies across our clients.

Thimo van Brink, will join the digital team as well in the function of Content Producer. Thimo has evolved into a media all-rounder in recent years and produced many videos and digital content for i.e. RTL, SBS, Talpa, NPO-3FM and BNN-VARA.

Benjamin Plant, our new Senior Digital Specialist, will focus on the digital aspect of communications and marketing, from social media to app development and SEO. Benjamin previously worked for a Dutch startup and for TrendWatching in London, where he spent some years as a marketing specialist.

Carola van Ingen, also a new Senior Digital Specialist. Carola used to work for AutoTrack and Thomas Cook where she became an experienced content specialist. Within Edelman she will work on all digital aspects of integrated communications.

A fourth appointment in the digital team is Julia Broekhuizen. Our new Dialogue Manager has an academic background in Organizational Science and Media Studies. Before Edelman, she worked for the press office of Philips and communications agency BIG BANG with a focus on branding through music.

Roy Boere, our new Assistant Account Executive, has built a large network and extensive knowledge in the field of influencer marketing. His previously worked in fashion and lifestyle PR and will continue his own influencer endeavours, next to integrated communications and marketing work for Edelman.
